# Manage Your Job Post Notifications

Choose which email notifications you receive from each job post you're assigned to, without losing access to the job.

### Overview

When you're assigned to a job post as a manager, you receive email notifications about its candidates, such as new candidates, assessment results and text message replies. If you manage several jobs, that can add up quickly.

With **Job post notifications**, you decide for yourself which of those emails you get from each job. Turning a notification off only stops the emails. You stay assigned to the job and keep the same access to it and its candidates.

Job post notifications let you:

- See every active job post you're assigned to on one page
- See at a glance which notifications you receive from each job
- Find a job quickly by its title or location
- Turn individual notifications on or off for each job
- Change your settings straight from a job post or from your dashboard

Every user can manage their own notifications, whether they're an **Admin**, **Editor** or **Viewer**. You can only change your own settings here. To choose who receives a notification for the whole team, an Admin or Editor edits the job post (see [**Assign Notifications & Job Managers**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/notifications-and-managers)).

## Before You Start

- You only receive notifications from job posts you're assigned to as a manager. Having access to all job posts isn't enough. If a job is missing from your list, ask an Admin or Editor to add you to its **Managers** section.
- The notifications listed depend on the features on your plan. For example, you only see **Text message received** if your account uses text messaging.
- Job post notifications are managed inside a single company. If you're working in your company group view, open the company first.

## How to Manage Your Job Post Notifications:

**1\. Open Job Post Notifications**

- Click your **name** in the top-right corner and select **My Profile**.
- Click the **Job post notifications** tile.
- If your account uses the older profile page, find the **Job post notifications** section and click **Manage notifications**.

**2\. Find the Job Post**

- You see one tile for each **Published** or **Paused** job post you're assigned to. Draft and archived jobs aren't listed.
- Each tile shows the job's status, title and location, plus an icon for each notification you currently receive from it. Hover over an icon to see the notification's name.
- A tile that reads **No notifications** means you don't receive any emails from that job.
- To find a job quickly, type part of its title or location in **Search by job title or location**. Typing "remote" finds jobs without a location.

**3\. Choose Your Notifications**

- Click the job's tile. The **Notification settings** window opens with the job's title.
- Turn each notification on or off with its switch:
- - **Assessment results**
    - **New candidate added**
    - **Application received**
    - **Resume received**
    - **Reference added**
    - **Reference completed**
    - **Reference rejected**
    - **One-way video interview completed**
    - **Text message received**
- Click **Save**. You'll see *Notification settings saved*, and the icons on the tile update right away.
- Click **Cancel** to close the window without changing anything.

**Note:** If you switch on a notification that's turned off for the job, Discovered turns it on for that job and sends it only to you. The other managers don't start receiving it.

**4\. (Optional) Change Your Settings from a Job Post or the Dashboard**

You don't have to go through your profile every time:

- **From a job post:** Open the job, click **Options**, then select **Notification settings**.
- **From the dashboard:** On a job in your job widgets, click the **…** menu and select **Notification settings**. This option isn't shown on archived jobs.

Both open the same **Notification settings** window for that job. **Notification settings** only appears on jobs you're assigned to as a manager.

## Why This Matters

Your inbox should only hold the updates you act on. Separating notifications from job access means you can stay on a job to review candidates without receiving every email it sends.

- **Cut inbox noise** on jobs where you only need to check in now and then.
- **Keep the alerts that matter**, such as assessment results or candidate text replies, on the jobs you own.
- **Stay in control** of your own settings, whatever your role.

## Use Cases

- **Hiring manager:** Keeps **One-way video interview completed** on and turns off **New candidate added** so they only hear about candidates ready for review.
- **Recruiter on many jobs:** Searches for a location and turns off notifications for jobs a teammate is handling.
- **Viewer:** Follows a job in read-only mode without receiving its emails.

## Best Practices

- Review your notifications when you're added to a new job. You start with every notification the job has turned on.
- Use the icons on each tile to check your settings quickly instead of opening every job.
- If nobody on the team needs a notification for a job, ask an Admin or Editor to turn it off in the job post instead of everyone switching it off for themselves.

## What Happens Next

- Your changes take effect as soon as you save. Future emails from that job follow your new settings.
- Other managers' notifications don't change.
- When you're added to another job, you automatically receive every notification that job has turned on until you change it.
- To learn how Admins and Editors choose notifications for everyone on a job, see [**Assign Notifications & Job Managers**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/notifications-and-managers).

With job post notifications, you get the updates you need from every job, and nothing you don't.
