# Restart Stopped Indeed Sponsorships

Know as soon as an Indeed sponsorship stops spending, and restart it in a few clicks without leaving Discovered.

### Overview

A sponsored job on Indeed stops spending when its campaign reaches its end date or uses up its budget. When that happens, the job quietly goes back to Indeed's free (organic) visibility, and it's easy to miss.

Discovered now tells you when a sponsorship stops and lets you restart it right away:

- **Dashboard alerts:** The **Notifications** widget on your dashboard shows **Indeed sponsorship ended** or **Indeed sponsorship budget depleted** for the job, with a **Restart** button.
- **Email alerts:** The job owner and the Admins and Editors assigned to the job receive an email when the sponsorship stops.
- **A banner on the Indeed card:** The job's **Post on Job Boards** page shows a red **Sponsorship stopped** banner with the reason, the budget and the dates.
- **One-click restart:** Extend the current campaign or start a new one, with the budget and dates already filled in for you.

**Note:** Sponsorship alerts work for jobs you sponsor on Indeed from Discovered. Your Indeed employer account must be connected first. See [**Indeed Integration Settings**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/indeed-settings) and [**Sponsoring Jobs on Indeed**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/sponsoring-jobs-on-indeed).

## Before You Start

- **Admins** and **Editors** can restart a sponsorship. Users with **Viewer** permissions see the dashboard alert, but without the **Restart** button, and don't see the banner on the Indeed card.
- The dashboard alert appears in the **Notifications** widget. If it isn't on your dashboard, add it as described in [**Customizing Your Dashboard**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/customizing-your-dashboard).
- Discovered checks your sponsored campaigns with Indeed once a day, so an alert can arrive up to a day after the campaign stopped.

## When Discovered Alerts You

You get an alert when a sponsored campaign:

- **Reaches its end date:** **Indeed sponsorship ended**
- **Spends its total budget**, or **spends this month's budget** on a monthly campaign: **Indeed sponsorship budget depleted**

Each alert names the job, the campaign, why it stopped, the budget, and the campaign dates. Click the job title to open its **Post on Job Boards** page.

If your whole Indeed account reaches its monthly spending limit, your company's Admins receive an email. This alert isn't tied to one job, so it doesn't appear on the dashboard.

**Note:** You get one alert when a campaign stops. You won't get repeat alerts every day while it stays stopped. Campaigns that had already stopped before this feature was turned on for your account don't send an alert, but the banner on their Indeed card still shows.

## How to Restart an Indeed Sponsorship:

**1\. Open the Restart Window**

Start from either place:

- **From the dashboard:** In the **Notifications** widget, find the alert and click **Restart**.
- **From the job:** Open the job and go to **Find and Evaluate Talent → Post on Job Boards**. On the Indeed card, click **Restart** in the red **Sponsorship stopped** banner under **Manage campaign**.

The **Restart Indeed sponsorship** window opens and shows the current campaign: its name, **Why it stopped**, the **Budget** and the **Schedule**.

**2\. Choose How to Restart**

Under *How do you want to restart it?*, choose one option. Discovered selects the one it recommends, marked **(recommended)**.

- **Extend the current campaign:** Raises the budget or moves the end date of the campaign you already have. Any budget it hasn't spent stays with it.
- **Start a new campaign:** Deletes the current campaign on Indeed, then starts a new one with a fresh budget and dates.

**Important:** When you choose **Start a new campaign**, Indeed deletes the current campaign first. Indeed doesn't refund anything the current campaign has already spent.

If the campaign was deleted on Indeed, only **Start a new campaign** is available.

**3\. Review the Budget and Dates**

Discovered fills in the form for you, based on your previous campaign. Change anything you need:

- **Total budget** or **Monthly budget:** The minimum is $50. When you extend a one-time campaign, the total budget includes what the campaign has already spent, so enter the new total, not just the amount to add.
- **Start date:** Shown only when you start a new campaign.
- **End date:** Required for a one-time campaign. It's optional for a monthly campaign.
- **First month behavior:** For a new monthly campaign, choose **Start now, full amount** or **Start now, prorated amount**.

**Note:** Indeed uses US Central Time for all campaign dates. Depending on where you are, "today" in the date picker may be a day ahead of or behind your local date.

**4\. Click Restart**

- Click **Restart**.
- After you restart from the dashboard, a confirmation appears with an **Open job boards** button.
- On the Indeed card, the red banner is replaced by *Restart submitted. Indeed may take some time to update the campaign status.*

Indeed can take a while to show the updated campaign. If you reload the page soon after restarting, the red banner may come back until Indeed catches up. You don't need to restart again.

## Paused Campaigns

If you paused a campaign yourself, the banner says *the campaign is paused* and doesn't offer **Restart**. To resume it, click **Manage campaign** on the Indeed card and set the status to **Active**.

## About the Indeed Disclaimer

Wherever Discovered shows a sponsorship budget or campaign dates, it also shows a disclaimer that Indeed requires. Indeed may review and adjust sponsorship amounts, and the figures in your Indeed employer dashboard are the ones you're charged for. Click **Show more** to read the full text. To check a campaign's remaining budget or duration, visit your Indeed employer dashboard at [employers.indeed.com](https://employers.indeed.com/).

## Why This Matters

A sponsored job that stops spending loses most of its visibility, often without anyone noticing. Sponsorship alerts make sure you find out, and you can restart from the alert itself.

- Catch ended or depleted campaigns before applicant flow drops
- Restart in a few clicks instead of deleting and recreating campaigns by hand
- Keep the right people informed through the dashboard and email

## Use Cases

- **High-volume hiring:** Extend a campaign that ran out of budget so applications keep coming.
- **Ongoing roles:** Start a new campaign with fresh dates for a role you hire for all year.
- **Team visibility:** Make sure the recruiters assigned to a job hear about it when its sponsorship stops.

## Best Practices

- Keep the **Notifications** widget on your dashboard so alerts are easy to spot.
- Assign the recruiters who work on a job to it, so they also get the email alerts. See [**Assign Notifications & Job Managers**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/notifications-and-managers).
- Use **Extend the current campaign** when you just need more budget or time, and **Start a new campaign** when you want a clean start.
- Check your Indeed employer dashboard for the final spend and remaining budget.

## What Happens Next

- Indeed resumes sponsoring the job once it processes the restart.
- If a sponsored job still isn't spending as expected after a restart, see [**Troubleshoot Sponsored Jobs Not Spending Correctly on Indeed**](https://knowledge-base.discovered.ai/en/article/troubleshoot-sponsored-jobs-not-spending-correctly-on-indeed).

With sponsorship alerts, you can keep your sponsored jobs running and restart them the moment they stop.
