Refreshing Job Boards

How to Refresh Job Posts and Maximize Candidate Flow

One of the things that happens after a job has been posted on the free organic feeds for a while is that you’ll likely notice a diminishing return on the number of candidates applying. If you're actively hiring and need more applications, it's a good idea to refresh your job postings. In Discovered, you can refresh a job post every 30 days.

How to Refresh Your Job Post

Step 1: Locate the Job Posting

Once you’ve reached the 30-day mark, you can refresh the job to improve its visibility. To do this:

  1. Click into the job you want to refresh.
  2. Navigate to Find & Evaluate Talent.
  3. Select Job Boards.
  4. Click Refresh on all the job boards where the job is posted.

Alternative: Reposting the Job

If you need to refresh a job before the 30-day limit, you have another option:

  1. Close the existing job posting.
  2. Create a brand-new job post with the same details.

Some users choose to do this after 15 or 21 days if they notice a drop in applicants. Keep in mind that job boards don’t always favor frequent reposting, so use this approach strategically.

Important Considerations for LinkedIn and Snagajob

LinkedIn and Snagajob require additional job classification details to ensure proper posting. Even if you’re copying an existing job post, you’ll still need to:

  1. Go into the job posting.
  2. Select the most applicable job category for LinkedIn.
  3. Save the changes.

This step helps ensure your job is classified correctly and reaches the right audience.

Boosting Job Visibility with Paid Sponsorships

If you’re not getting enough candidates through organic job postings, you might consider sponsoring your job post:

Sponsoring on ZipRecruiter

You can purchase a 30-day boost directly in Discovered:

  1. Navigate to your Job Boards tab.
  2. Select ZipRecruiter.
  3. Follow the steps to sponsor the job.

Sponsoring on Indeed

Sponsoring a job on Indeed requires connecting your Indeed paid ad account:

  1. Click the top-right Settings menu in Discovered.
  2. Locate Indeed Settings.
  3. Enter the email associated with your Indeed account.
  4. Click Connect and follow the prompts to authorize the integration.
  5. Set your budget, date range, and parameters.
  6. Click Sponsor to finalize your job boost.

Final Tips

If you’re experiencing diminishing returns in candidate volume, try these strategies:

  • Refresh job posts every 30 days.
  • Close and repost jobs sooner if necessary.
  • Make sure LinkedIn and Snagajob have the correct job category information.
  • Consider paid sponsorships for greater reach.
