Screening Questions

When posting your jobs to job boards, you can add screening questions that candidates will be prompted to answer when applying to your job from those job boards.

Key Steps:

  1. Go to the job posting and navigate to the Find and Evaluate Talent tab.
  2. Scroll down to the Evaluate Candidates section and locate the Screening Questions card.
  3. Click on the Screening Questions card to open the user interface for adding questions.
  4. Click on "Add Question" and enter the question you want to ask candidates.
  5. Select the question type:
    • Long text: for paragraph-length responses.
    • Short text: for brief text responses.
    • Pick one option: for multiple choice questions where only one answer can be chosen.
    • Pick multiple options: for multiple choice questions where many answers can be chosen.
    • Date: for selecting a specific date.
    • Upload file: for candidates to upload documents like resumes or cover letters.
  6. Add response options for multiple choice questions and indicate any deal-breaker responses.
  7. Create multiple questions if needed and rearrange them by dragging to the desired order.
  8. Click "Submit" to finalize and use the screening questions on Indeed and ZipRecruiter.

Cautionary Notes:

  • Screening questions currently ONLY work on Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and Monster. We plan to continue adding to this list in the future.
  • Ensure the questions are clear and relevant to the job requirements.
  • Double-check the question types and responses to avoid confusion for candidates.
  • Review the questions for any potential bias or discriminatory language.

Tips for Efficiency:

  • Use templates for common screening questions to save time.
  • Regularly update and refine screening questions based on feedback and candidate responses.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of screening questions in filtering out unsuitable candidates and adjust as needed.
