Creating a Job Posting from a Template
Creating a Job Posting from a Job Posting Template
This guide explains how to create a job posting using an existing job posting template in Discovered. While the default template loads automatically when you create a new job post, you can also choose any other template you’ve set up to save time and ensure consistency for different types of roles.
Overview
When you create a new job post, Discovered uses whichever template is designated as the default. However, if you need to create a job posting based on a different template, you can easily choose another one.
Using a specific template allows you to:
- Save time by reusing pre-configured job details.
- Maintain consistency for specialized roles.
- Ensure workflows, pipelines, and evaluation tools are pre-set as needed.
How to Create a Job Posting from a Different Template
Step 1 – Navigate to Create Job Post
From your Dashboard, locate the Create Job Post button.
- Normally, clicking this button directly uses your default template automatically.
Step 2 – Open the Dropdown
Instead of clicking directly on Create Job Post, do the following:
- Click the small downward arrow next to the Create Job Post button.
A dropdown menu will appear.
Step 3 – Select “Copy from template”
- In the dropdown, click Copy from template.
This opens a list of all your job posting templates.
Step 4 – Choose Your Template
- Browse through your available templates.
- Click Select next to the template you wish to use.
Example: You might choose a template specifically for a certain department or job type.
Step 5 – Submit and Begin Editing
- After selecting your template, click Submit.
This action:
- Creates a new job post based on the selected template.
- Opens the job posting form for you to edit any necessary details.
Editing the Job Posting
Once your job is created from the template:
- You’ll see the same job posting interface as usual.
- All fields pre-filled in the template will appear in the new job post.
You can review or modify details across:
- Job Details Tab
- Find and Evaluate Talent Tab
- Processing Tab
All defaults saved in the chosen template automatically populate in the new job post.
Using a Template Pipeline Only
Sometimes, you might want to use just the pipeline from a template rather than creating the entire job from a template.
How to Apply a Pipeline from a Template:
- While editing a job post, navigate to the Processing step.
- Click Update pipeline.
- Select Copy from a job posting template.
- Choose the template containing the pipeline you want to use.
This will replace the job’s current pipeline with the one saved in the selected template.
Benefits of Creating Jobs from Templates
Creating jobs from templates offers several advantages:
✅ Streamlines job setup for specific roles or departments.
✅ Ensures consistency in workflows, pipelines, and evaluation tools.
✅ Reduces errors and saves time by reusing pre-configured data.
✅ Allows flexibility to customize job postings after applying the template.
