Private/Internal Job Posts
Control the visibility of certain roles in Discovered by creating private or internal job postings. This allows you to manage sensitive hires without advertising them publicly on your career page or external job boards.
Overview
Private or internal job posts let you manage hiring discreetly. You can:
- Hide from Career Page: Post jobs to select job boards but keep them off your public careers page.
- Fully Internalized: Keep jobs completely private, hidden from both job boards and your career page, while still sourcing candidates manually.
- Hybrid Approaches: Mix visibility settings to balance privacy and external reach.
This is different from confidential job postings—private/internal jobs give you flexible control over distribution without exposing the role broadly.
How to Create Private/Internal Job Posts:
Option 1. Selective Distribution (Hide from Career Page Only)
Use this option if you want a job visible on external boards but not on your career page.
1. Enable “Post to Career Page”
- Contact support@discovered.ai to request this toggle on your account.
- Once enabled, navigate to a job post.
- Click on Find & Evaluate Talent tab.
- Look for the Post to Career Page switch.
2. Turn Off Career Page Visibility
- When editing or creating a job post, toggle Post to Career Page OFF.
3. Choose Specific Job Boards
- Still in Find & Evaluate Talent, go to Post on Job Boards.
- Select only the job boards you want the role to appear on.
- Save your changes.
Option 2. Fully Internalized Job Posts (No External Visibility)
Use this option when you want a job hidden from both job boards and your career page.
1. Create a Minimal Job Post
- Keep the job title under 100 characters.
- Use minimal details (even just repeat the title in the description).
2. Confirm Visibility Settings
- In Find & Evaluate Talent, make sure:
- Do not click "Post on Job Boards" feature as you want to keep this private.
- Post to Career Page is toggled OFF (if available on your account).
3. Manually Add Candidates
- In Find & Evaluate Talent:
- Upload Resumes directly in Upload Resumes tab.
- Use Manual Import to add candidates with either CSV option or by manually typing candidate details.
- Copy the Application Link and share it with select candidates.
- Copy the To-Do List Link (with assessments) and share directly.
Why This Matters
Private/Internal Job Posts give you:
- Discretion: Keep sensitive roles hidden from public visibility.
- Flexibility: Still collect candidates via select boards or direct sourcing.
- Control: Manage how and where candidates see your openings.
Use Cases
- Discreet Hiring: Recruit for sensitive roles without alerting employees or competitors.
- Internal Referrals: Allow staff to recommend candidates privately.
- Candidate Pooling: Collect resumes for networking leads without posting a full job ad.
- Special Projects: Manage confidential or short-term assignments without broad exposure.
Best Practices
- Plan Visibility Early: Decide whether you need external board exposure or complete privacy.
- Use Minimal Descriptions: For fully internal posts, keep details short to avoid accidental exposure.
- Track Links Carefully: Store application or to-do list links securely for manual candidate sourcing.
- Check Permissions: Ensure only authorized team members can view internal posts.
- Ask Support for Hybrid Needs: If you want a mix (e.g., job boards but no career page visibility), contact support.
What Happens Next
Once configured:
- Jobs hidden from the career page will not be visible to the public or your employees.
- Fully internalized jobs will only collect candidates you add manually or through private links.
- All candidate activity and progress is still tracked within the ATS, ensuring consistency with your standard hiring workflows.
