Creating Internalized/Private Job Postings
Overview
There are two primary approaches to privatizing a job posting:
- Selective Distribution – Post to specific job boards only (not your career page).
- Fully Internalized – No job boards or career page exposure; candidates are manually sourced.
This article covers both options, setup instructions, and key tips.
Option 1: Selective Distribution (Hide from Career Page Only)
This approach allows the job to appear on selected job boards, but not on your career page (visible to internal employees or public site visitors).
Step 1: Enable “Post to Career Page” Control
Contact Support
Email: support@discovered.ai
Request to enable the “Post to Career Page” switch for your account.
Verify Access
Once enabled, navigate to any job post and go to:Find and Evaluate Talent
> Ensure you see the “Post to Career Page” switch.
Step 2: Create or Edit a Job Posting
- Go to your job post.
- Ensure it is fully completed (title, job description, etc.).
- Toggle “Post to Career Page” OFF.
Step 3: Choose Specific Job Boards
- In the same section (
Find and Evaluate Talent
), go to “Post on Job Boards.” - Select only the job boards you want the post to appear on.
- Save your selections.
Tip:
Use this method when you want to source candidates from outside channels without advertising roles internally or on your site.
Option 2: Fully Internalized (No External Visibility)
This option creates a job post that is not sent to job boards nor shown on your career page. Candidate traffic is fully manual (e.g., referrals, networking, etc.).
Step 1: Create a Minimal Job Post
- Create a new job posting.
- Keep the job title under 100 characters.
- Leave the job description minimal or just copy the job title into it.
Step 2: Confirm the Job is Hidden
Go to Find and Evaluate Talent
.
Confirm that:
- It is not posted to any job boards. You can do this under Find & Evaluate Talent > Post on Job boards
- The “Post to Career Page” toggle is off (if available on your account).
Step 3: Manually Add Candidates
You have several ways to manually bring candidates into the pipeline:
Upload Resumes:
Upload resume files directly.
Manual Import:
Enter candidate details one at a time.
Share Application Link:
Go to the job post, click to copy the application link and send it directly to selected candidates.
Send To-Do List Link:
Scroll down to copy a “To-Do List” link, which includes assessments you want candidates to complete.
Tip:
Use this method when sourcing manually via direct outreach, internal recommendations, or discreet recruitment efforts.
Notes & Tips
Not Visible to Employees:
Internalized job posts are hidden from your public career page, meaning your employees will not see them unless they have access to Discovered.
Still Trackable:
Even if hidden, candidate applications and progress can still be tracked within the ATS.
Flexible Options Exist:
You can blend strategies (e.g., use job boards but exclude career page visibility). Talk to Discovered support if you need a hybrid approach.
