Confidential Job Posts

Create confidential job postings on Indeed and connect them back to Discovered to manage candidates without revealing your company name publicly.

Overview

Confidential (or anonymous) job posts let you advertise open roles on job boards like Indeed without revealing your company’s name or details. This approach is ideal when hiring for sensitive positions—such as leadership changes, restructuring, or competitive searches—where discretion is critical.

Because job board integrations in Discovered always display employer information, confidential postings must be created manually on the job board and then linked back to Discovered using the job mailbox email. This ensures your posting remains anonymous to the public while still centralizing all candidate applications, resumes, and communications inside Discovered’s ATS.

How to Create Confidential Job Posts:

1. Disable Automatic Job Board Posting in Discovered

  • Open your job post in Discovered.
  • Go to the Find & Evaluate Talent tab.
  • Click on Post on Job Boards, uninstall any job board integrations.
  • Under Configure Career Page, toggle off the career page setting.
  • If you don’t see this toggle, contact Discovered Support to enable it.
  • Jobs under 100 characters in description won’t publish publicly, but the toggle gives you added control.

At this point, your job is set to not publish anywhere externally, ensuring it stays internal while you configure a confidential posting manually.

2. Prepare an Anonymous Job Description

  • If your job description contains company details (like name, address, or brand references), you’ll want to anonymize it.
  • Use Kingsley AI inside Discovered to quickly generate an anonymous version of your posting.
    • Example: Instead of “ABC Corporation is hiring a Finance Manager,” Kingsley might reframe it as “A leading organization is seeking a Finance Manager.”

Copy this anonymized version—you’ll use it when posting on Indeed.

3. Create the Job on Indeed

  • Go to Indeed.com > Employers > Post a Job.
  • Log into your employer account.
  • Enter the job title, location, and other required details.
  • Paste the anonymized job description you prepared.
  • Under the Company section, select Post confidentially to hide your company name.
  • Continue filling in qualifications and required fields.

4. Link the Job to Discovered via Job Mailbox

  • In Discovered, go to your job post and open Find & Evaluate Talent.
  • Scroll down to Tools for Sourcing Candidates > Copy Job Mailbox.
  • Back in Indeed, under Application Method, select Email.
  • Paste the Job Mailbox email from Discovered.
  • Configure application settings:
    • Check Send an individual email update each time someone applies.
    • Check Require resume (ensures Discovered can parse applications).
    • Uncheck Let candidates contact you at this email address (keeps all communication centralized in Discovered).

5. Finalize and Post

  • Review your posting.
  • Select a budget/sponsorship plan (Indeed no longer supports free confidential posts).
  • Add payment details and click Post Job.

Why This Matters

  • Discretion: Keeps your hiring needs hidden from employees, clients, and competitors.
  • Centralization: All candidate resumes flow directly into Discovered via the mailbox.
  • Control: You manage candidates inside Discovered as if it were a normal posting.

Use Cases

  • Leadership or restructuring hires where discretion is critical.
  • Sensitive searches where revealing your brand could cause concern.
  • Recruiting in competitive industries without tipping off rivals.

Best Practices

  • Always anonymize job descriptions (Kingsley can help).
  • Require resumes so Discovered can parse and store candidate data.
  • Turn off all job board integrations before creating the external confidential post.
  • Expect to sponsor—anonymous jobs usually require budget to gain traction.

  • Your confidential job goes live on Indeed (without company details).
  • Candidate resumes are automatically routed into Discovered.
  • Applicants appear in your pipeline tagged with Source: Indeed.
  • You never need to log into Indeed again—candidate tracking happens in Discovered.
