Creating Confidential Job Postings
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Start on Indeed
Visit Indeed.com.
Click “Employers/Post a Job.”
Log in to your employer account if you're not already logged in.
TIP: You’ll be directed to your employer dashboard automatically if already logged in.
2. Begin a New Job Posting on Indeed
Click “Create new job.”
You can use a previous job template to save time, or create one from scratch.
Fill in standard job fields:
- Job Title
- Location
- Job Description
- Details (Pay, Schedule, Benefits, etc.)
Click “Continue” once completed.
3. Make the Job Posting Confidential
On the Review screen:
- Find the Company section.
- Choose the “Post confidentially” option.
NOTE: This will hide the company name on the posting and remove the requirement to display employer info.
Click “Done.”
4. Set Up Your Job in Discovered
- Open your Discovered dashboard.
- If not already created, click “Create Job Post.”
- Enter the job title (e.g., Business Support Coordinator).
- Decide if this should be shown on your career page. You can follow this article on privatizing posts to learn more
NOTE:
If you do not want the job visible on your career page or job boards, keep the job ad under 100 characters.
Discovered will suppress the listing visibility accordingly.
Scroll to the bottom:
- Select notification preferences.
- Assign hiring managers.
- Click “Publish and Continue.”
IMPORTANT:
Ensure your processing pipeline and default evaluation settings are correctly configured. These are covered in separate knowledge base articles.
5. Copy the Email Address from Discovered
In Discovered, go to the job post that matches the one we're creating on Indeed. Then go to Find and Evaluate Talent > Sourcing Candidates > Job Mailbox.
Copy the email address listed as the Job Mailbox.
6. Go Back to Indeed – Configure Email Application Settings
Under Application Method, choose “Email.”
Paste the copied email address from Discovered.
NOTE:
A warning: “Not on employer account” may appear — ignore it. This does not affect functionality.
- Check the box: “Send an individual email update each time someone applies.”
- Check the box: “Require resume.”
- Uncheck: “Let candidates contact you at this email address.”
TIP: It’s better to handle all communication inside Discovered, where candidate tracking and messaging is centralized.
Click “Done.”
7. Finalize and Post the Job
Click “Continue.”
- Confirm any warnings (e.g., "Duplicate job") if this job was posted before.
- Choose how to sponsor the job:
- Set your daily budget, duration, and targeting options.
- Add or confirm payment method.
- Click “Save and Continue,” then “Post Job.”
What Happens Next?
- The job is now live on Indeed, but completely confidential.
- Candidate applications will flow directly into Discovered.
- They’ll be tagged with the source (Indeed) when they come into Discovered.
- You won’t need to manage candidates inside of Indeed.
Additional Notes
- Confidential jobs cannot be posted directly from Discovered to Indeed — this manual method is required.
- You can toggle visibility on your career page and job boards within Discovered anytime.
- If you'd like the “Career Page Visibility Toggle” activated, contact the Discovered support team.
- If the job ad remains under 100 characters, it will not be posted publicly anywhere.
