Use Referrals
Overview
The Referrals feature makes it easy to organize employee-driven recruiting. Instead of relying on ad hoc word-of-mouth, you can add employees, send them automated email or SMS campaigns, and provide each with a unique referral link that tracks who referred whom. This structured process not only saves time but also ensures you capture high-quality candidates through trusted recommendations.
How to Use Referrals
1. Open the Referrals Tool
- Go to your job post.
- Click the Find and Evaluate Talent tab.
- Select the Referrals card.
2. Add Employees
- If you haven’t added employees yet, click Add.
- Upload via CSV, or
- Add manually, one by one.
- Select the employees you want to include. You can:
- Pick all employees
- Select individuals one by one
- Search by name
3. Build Your Sequence
- Message cadence: Set up one or more messages. Each goes out at the time you choose.
- Avoid weekends: Optionally skip Saturdays and Sundays.
- Time zones: Send messages based on your employees’ time zones to avoid off-hour pings.
- Message templates:
- Write custom content, or
- Use Kingsley (AI assistant) to auto-generate and refine a referral sequence.
4. Customize Messages
For each message, you can:
- Send instantly (only one per channel: email + SMS can both go instantly).
- Schedule by day/time (e.g., Day 1 at 9:00 AM).
- Choose delivery method: Email or SMS.
- Personalize content: Use tokens like:
- Employee First Name
- Company Name
- Link to Apply (auto-generates unique links for each employee so referrals are tracked).
Note: Each message automatically includes a referral link employees can share directly or on social media.
5. Launch the Sequence
- Click Begin Sequence to start sending.
- Monitor progress in real time:
- Completed: Sequence finished.
- In Progress: Messages scheduled to go out.
- Adjust if needed:
- Reschedule future messages
- Remove employees from a sequence
- Cancel the sequence entirely

What Happens Next
Once messages are sent, employees receive their unique referral link. Candidates who apply through that link enter your pipeline, tagged with the referring employee. You can monitor campaign performance and easily credit employees for successful referrals.
