Mark Candidates as Favorite

The Candidate Favoriting feature gives recruiters and hiring managers a simple way to highlight standout candidates. Unlike star ratings, favoriting marks a candidate as exceptional or noteworthy without changing their evaluation data.

Overview

With the favoriting feature, you can quickly flag top candidates across jobs. Favorited candidates are visible in candidate profiles, job views, communication logs, and even on your dashboard.

How to Favorite a Candidate

1. From Candidate Preview

  • Go to Job Posts in the navigation bar.
  • Click Published.
  • Open any job.
  • Click the candidate’s profile.
  • Next to the star ratings, click the heart icon.
  • The candidate is now marked as “Favorited.”

2. From the Full Candidate Profile

  • Click Open full profile.
  • The heart icon appears there as well.
  • Click the heart icon to favorite the candidate.

3. View Favoriting Activity

  • In the candidate’s Communication tab, you’ll see an event logged whenever someone favorites the candidate. This helps teams know who flagged the candidate.

4. Viewing Favorited Candidates

  • Within a Job: On the candidate list, use the filter Show Only Favorite Candidates to narrow results.
  • On the Dashboard: A dedicated Favorited Candidates widget compiles all favorited candidates across all jobs.

Why This Matters

Previously, recruiters relied only on ratings or notes to highlight strong candidates. Favoriting adds an easy, visual way to:

  • Flag a standout applicant in a crowded pipeline.
  • Show clients or colleagues which candidates you recommend.
  • Quickly filter and view favorited candidates across jobs.

Use Cases

  • You’re working on a role with 100+ applicants and want to easily identify your top 2–3.
  • Your client requests a shortlist of their “favorites” without editing the original candidate data.
  • You want a dashboard view of the best candidates across all jobs.

Best Practices

  • Use favoriting alongside ratings to give a fuller picture of candidate quality.
  • Make favoriting part of your client-facing workflow if you recruit on their behalf.
  • Regularly review the dashboard widget to ensure standout candidates aren’t overlooked.

What Happens Next

Favorited candidates remain tagged until you remove the favorite. As fixes roll out, the candidate-level filter will also work on the Candidates page, providing an even more powerful way to manage your pipeline.
