Move Candidate to Another Status
Overview
Manually updating candidate statuses can slow down your hiring process and create room for error. With Discovered’s Move to Another Status automation, candidates can be automatically advanced through your pipeline once they’ve completed all tasks in their current status.
For example, if a candidate schedules an interview, the system can automatically move them to the next step (e.g., Initial Interview Scheduled). This feature works with any automation—assessments, reference checks, application forms—and ensures candidates flow smoothly through your process without requiring manual updates.
How to Move Candidate to Another Status:
1. Open a Status in the Processing Tab
Go to your job posting, navigate to the Processing tab, and select the status where you want to allow scheduling.
2. Add the Move to Another Status Automation
In the automations section, select Move to Another Status.
3. Choose the Destination Status
Specify the status where candidates should be moved automatically once all tasks in the current status are completed.
4. Customize Additional Actions
Optionally, configure a message or other automations in the new status to notify candidates.
5. Test the Automation
Trigger the tasks in the current status to confirm that candidates are moved automatically to the next status once all requirements are fulfilled.
Why This Matters:
Automating candidate status transitions ensures your pipeline runs smoothly, consistently, and efficiently. It helps your hiring team:
- Save time by reducing manual status updates.
- Ensure candidates are never stuck in outdated stages.
- Improve communication by pairing status changes with automated notifications.
- Create a structured and repeatable hiring process.
Use Cases:
- Recruiters: Automatically move candidates from Schedule Interview to Interview Scheduled once a time is booked.
- Hiring Managers: Progress candidates from Assessments to Ready for Review once tests are completed.
- Agencies: Standardize pipeline automation across multiple clients.
- Small Teams: Minimize manual updates while keeping the process consistent.
Best Practices:
- Label statuses clearly so automation rules are easy to track.
- Combine with other automations (e.g., scheduling, assessments, reference checks) for a fully streamlined workflow.
- Double-check automation settings to avoid unintended candidate movements.
- Regularly review your pipeline and update automation rules as hiring needs evolve.
What Happens Next:
Once enabled:
- The system monitors all automations linked to the selected status.
- When the candidate completes all assigned tasks, they are automatically moved to the specified next status.
- Any automations or messages tied to the new status will trigger immediately.
With Move to Another Status, you can build a hands-free, efficient hiring pipeline that ensures no candidate is left behind.
