View & Manage Candidate Resume
Overview
The Resume Tab in a candidate’s profile allows you to manage resumes seamlessly within Discovered. If a candidate hasn’t provided one, you can either request a resume directly from them (with a customizable pre-written message) or upload it manually on their behalf. Once uploaded, resumes are stored under the candidate’s profile, where you can view them, manage attachments, and even set a new file as the primary resume.
This ensures your hiring team always has the most up-to-date resume on file, keeping the evaluation process accurate and efficient.
How to Access Candidate Profile Header:
1. Request a Resume
- If a candidate doesn’t have a resume uploaded, click Ask for a resume in their profile.
- A pre-written message template appears—customize it as needed but make sure to include the submit resume token, which gives the candidate a link to upload their file.
- Send the message, and the candidate can securely submit their resume online.
2. Upload a Resume Manually
- If you already have the candidate’s resume, click Upload resume.
- Either drag and drop the file or choose a file from your device.
- The resume will appear in the candidate’s profile under the Resume Tab.
3. Update a Resume with a New File
- Click Add attachment in the candidate’s profile and upload the new document.
- Hover over the file and select Set this file as a resume to make it the candidate’s primary resume.
- The resume tab will now display the updated version.
Why This Matters
Resumes are the foundation of candidate evaluation. With the Resume Tab:
- Recruiters can ensure candidate profiles are always complete.
- Hiring managers can review the latest version without confusion over multiple attachments.
- Candidates have a streamlined way to provide updates without back-and-forth emails.
This centralized process reduces errors, eliminates outdated files, and saves time for everyone involved.
Use Cases
- Recruiters: Request missing resumes directly from candidates in one click.
- Hiring Managers: Quickly confirm that the most recent file is set as the active resume.
- Agencies: Upload resumes on behalf of candidates collected through external sourcing.
- Small Teams: Maintain accurate, updated candidate records without extra tools.
Best Practices
- Always include the submit resume token in request messages to avoid issues with candidate uploads.
- Regularly check and refresh resumes to ensure accuracy when candidates advance in the process.
- Use descriptive file names before uploading for better organization.
- Set the correct file as the resume when multiple documents are attached to avoid confusion.
What Happens Next
Once a resume is uploaded or requested:
- The file is stored under the candidate’s profile in the Resume Tab.
- Attachments remain accessible, but the file marked as “Resume” becomes the official version used throughout the hiring process.
- Team members can review resumes directly without needing to request them separately.
With View & Manage Candidate Resume, your hiring workflow stays streamlined and organized—ensuring every candidate’s profile is complete, accurate, and ready for evaluation.
