Transitioning from One ATS to Discovered (Including Indeed)
Overview
When moving from another ATS to Discovered, timing matters — especially for Indeed.
If both systems are live at the same time, it can cause publishing issues and delays with Indeed. In some cases, jobs won’t appear at all.
Here’s the right way to handle the transition.
Transitioning from One ATS to Discovered (Including Indeed):
1. Turn Off All Jobs in Your Old ATS
Before anything else:
- Log into your previous ATS.
- Close, archive, or fully remove all active job postings.
- Confirm they are no longer visible on:
- Your website career page
- Indeed
- Other job boards
This is critical. We cannot enable Indeed inside Discovered until this is complete.
2. Update Your Website Career Page
Your website must point to your Discovered career page — not your old ATS.
If your website currently links to something like:
companyname.applicanttrackingsystem.com
That must be replaced with your Discovered career page link.
You may need your website developer to make this update.
3. Wait 24–36 Hours
After your jobs are confirmed removed from your old ATS:
Wait 24–36 hours before posting those same jobs in Discovered.
Why?
Indeed needs time to register that:
- Your old ATS feed has stopped.
- Those jobs are no longer active.
If we repost too quickly, the feeds can overlap and cause issues.
4. Post Jobs in Discovered
After the waiting period:
- Recreate or repost your jobs in Discovered.
- Enable all job board distribution buttons.
- Confirm publishing.
At this point, Indeed can be activated on your account.
Why This Matters:
Indeed does not allow duplicate feeds from two ATS platforms for the same company.
If your old ATS is still pushing jobs to Indeed while Discovered is also trying to push jobs, Indeed may:
- Block the new jobs
- Delay indexing
- Require manual support intervention
- Force you to call them to clarify which ATS you’re using
We want to avoid that.
What If Indeed Still Doesn’t Pick Up the Jobs?:
There is still a small chance Indeed does not automatically register the change.
If that happens:
You may need to contact Indeed Employer Support and let them know:
- You are no longer using your previous ATS.
- You are now using Discovered as your ATS provider.
- You need your job feed updated.
We can provide a template message for that if needed.
Important Reminder:
Do not run two ATS platforms at the same time.
Even a short overlap can cause publishing problems that take days to clean up.
Start by turning off the old system completely.
Then transition cleanly into Discovered.
If you’re unsure at any point, reach out to support before posting jobs.
