Use People Data Labs for Sourcing

Expand your talent pool by connecting Discovered with external candidate data.

Overview

The People Data Labs integration gives you access to a vast external database of professionals, directly within Discovered. Instead of relying solely on your internal candidates, you can source new prospects by setting People Data Labs (PDL) as a search source. With flexible filters, API key authentication, and batch size controls, you can manage sourcing efficiently while keeping candidate data organized within your jobs.

This integration allows you to:

  • Run AI-powered searches across external profiles.
  • Apply targeted filters such as skills, job titles, and location.
  • Add sourced candidates directly to job postings for evaluation and outreach.

How to Sourcing Internal Data:

1. Connect People Data Labs

  • Log into your People Data Labs account.
  • Copy your API Key.
  • In Discovered, go to the Candidates tab, click Company Candidates, and select Add External Source.
  • Choose People Data Labs as the source and paste in your API Key.

2. Configure Search Settings

  • Set your batch size to control how many profiles return per search (helps regulate credit usage).
  • Enter filters manually for better accuracy (skills, job titles, locations, etc.).

3. Run Searches

  • Use the AI search bar or filters to define your criteria.
  • Review search results, which include external candidate profiles pulled from PDL.

4. Add Candidates to Jobs

  • Select relevant candidates from your search results.
  • Click Add to Job, then choose an existing posting or create a new one.
  • Candidates are added without triggering automated workflows, since they are sourced and not direct applicants.

Why This Matters

People Data Labs integration ensures you never run out of sourcing options. By combining external data with your internal candidate pool, you can:

  • Broaden your reach for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Maintain structured workflows inside Discovered.
  • Save time with targeted searches rather than manual sourcing.

Use Cases

  • Tech recruiting: Source developers with specific coding skills not found in your database.
  • High-volume roles: Expand candidate reach for retail or seasonal hiring.
  • Executive search: Access external networks for leadership positions.
  • Specialized hiring: Find niche candidates by filtering for industry-specific skills or companies.

Best Practices

  • Keep your API Key secure and accessible only to authorized admins.
  • Start with smaller batch sizes to test results and credit usage.
  • Always manually refine filters (e.g., job title + location) for the best matches.
  • Review profiles thoroughly before adding them to jobs.

What Happens Next

  • Candidates selected from PDL appear in the chosen job posting.
  • You can evaluate them using scorecards, interviews, and assessments like any other candidate.
  • Automations remain paused by default, but you can enable them as needed.

With People Data Labs sourcing, Discovered becomes a unified hub for both internal and external candidate data—helping you identify, engage, and hire faster.
