LinkedIn Enhancement: Toggle for New Companies to Opt In to Basic Job Posting
LinkedIn is rolling out a change that affects new LinkedIn Company Pages and companies posting a basic LinkedIn job for the first time. Beginning at the end of March 2026, LinkedIn will require Company Page admins to enable a setting and select an approved job source (like Discovered) before basic jobs can appear on their Company Page.
This change is on LinkedIn’s side; Discovered is not changing how you post jobs.
Overview
LinkedIn shared the following timeline and impact:
- End of February 2026: LinkedIn begins adding a toggle on Company Pages that lets admins decide whether they want basic jobs posted to their Company Page. No action is needed initially.
- End of March 2026: LinkedIn will require action for: Companies that create a new LinkedIn Company Page, or companies that post a basic job for the first time. Those companies must turn on the setting to allow basic jobs, and select their approved job source on the LinkedIn Company Page (ex: Discovered).
If your company has already posted basic jobs on LinkedIn previously: LinkedIn says no action is required.
Staffing companies: LinkedIn notes there is no change here—jobs from staffing companies still must be promoted to have visibility.
Step-by-step setup:
When LinkedIn enforces this change (end of March 2026), a LinkedIn Company Page Admin should:
1. Open your LinkedIn Company Page admin view
- Go to your company’s LinkedIn Page.
- Make sure you’re viewing it as an admin (not just as a member).
2. Go to the “Job posting” settings page
- From your Company Page admin menu (left sidebar): Click Jobs (it may appear as Jobs (NEW))
- Click Job posting
3. Turn on “Enable basic job posting”
- On the Job posting page, find the section labeled: Enable basic job posting
- Turn the toggle On.
LinkedIn notes that enabling basic job posting will: Automatically post open roles from your ATS as basic jobs on your Company Page. Not affect promoted job visibility.
4. Connect your ATS (approved job source)
- On the same Job posting page, under: Manage your connected ATS
- Click: Connect ATS
Then select/confirm Discovered as the approved job source (LinkedIn’s wording may vary, but the goal is to connect the ATS LinkedIn will accept for basic postings).
Note: LinkedIn’s labels and menus may vary slightly over time. The key is: enable basic job posting + connect your ATS (Discovered) as the approved job source.
Why This Matters:
If LinkedIn requires this opt-in and it hasn’t been enabled, you may see symptoms like:
- Jobs posted from Discovered not appearing on your LinkedIn Company Page as expected (for basic postings)
- LinkedIn prompting admins to “approve” or “select a job source” before jobs display
This is not typically a Discovered issue—it’s a LinkedIn requirement for basic job visibility on Company Pages in the affected scenarios.
Who Needs to Take Action (and When):
You likely need to take action only if one of these is true:
- You are creating a new LinkedIn Company Page, or
- You are posting a basic LinkedIn job for the first time, and the job is expected to show on your Company Page
If neither applies, you can usually ignore this update.
Timing: LinkedIn indicated this will be enforced beginning at the end of March 2026 for the scenarios above.
What Happens Next:
- LinkedIn will continue rolling this out through late February 2026 and begin enforcing it for new pages / first-time basic posters beginning at the end of March 2026.
- If your team is planning to create a new LinkedIn Company Page (or start using basic LinkedIn postings for the first time), it’s worth confirming your Company Page admins know this setting exists so jobs don’t get blocked.
Troubleshooting / FAQ:
My job isn’t showing on LinkedIn—what should I check first?
- Confirm whether this is a basic posting (not promoted).
- Confirm whether your company is affected:
- New Company Page, or first-time basic posting → likely impacted beginning at the end of March 2026
- Have a LinkedIn Company Page admin verify:
The Enable basic job posting toggle is On and Under Manage your connected ATS, your ATS is connected and Discovered is selected/approved
We’ve posted jobs on LinkedIn before. Do we need to do anything?
LinkedIn’s update says: No—companies that have already posted basic jobs should not need to take action.
Does this change anything for staffing companies?
LinkedIn says no change: staffing company jobs must still be promoted to have visibility.
Can Discovered enable this setting for us?
No—this is a LinkedIn Company Page admin setting and must be updated in LinkedIn by an admin.
