Updating Your Email Address in Discovered

Learn how to update your Discovered account email address and make sure your active Indeed job postings use the correct email.

Overview

If you are switching from a personal email address to a company email address, there are two places that may need to be updated in Discovered.

First, you need to update the email address on your Discovered user account. If you use a connected Google or Microsoft email account, you should also disconnect your current email before changing the address, then reconnect the new one afterward.

Second, if you have active jobs posted to Indeed, you need to update the email address on those job postings as well. Changing your account email does not automatically update jobs that are already posted to Indeed.

This helps keep your account login, connected email features, and active job board postings aligned with your company email address.

Note: If you do not have a company email address yet, start with the guide for setting up a corporate domain email address, then come back to this article.

Before You Begin

Set aside about ten minutes to update your account, plus a couple of minutes for each active job you have posted to Indeed.

Order matters. If your email is currently connected to Discovered, disconnect it before changing your account email address. Then reconnect the new email address afterward.

Following the steps in this order helps prevent your account from staying connected to your old mailbox.

Updating Your Email Address

1. Open your profile

From any screen in Discovered:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner.
  2. Select My Profile.

Your profile page includes sections such as Personal Info, Email Settings, Email Account, Signature Settings, and Scheduling Settings. Depending on your permissions, you may see additional options.

2. Disconnect your current email account

Skip this step if you have never connected your email account to Discovered.

If you are not sure whether an email is connected, open the Email Account section and check whether an address is shown.

To disconnect your current email:

  1. Open Email Account.
  2. When prompted to unassign your email address, click Unassign.

Your old email address is now disconnected. You will reconnect your new email address after updating your account information.

3. Change your email address

To update the email address on your Discovered account:

  1. Go back to your profile page.
  2. Open Personal Info.
  3. Find the Email field.
  4. Replace your current email address with your new company email address.
  5. Click Save.

Your Discovered account now uses your new email address.

Important: Your email address is also your login. From now on, sign in to Discovered with your new company email address. Your password does not change, and there is no confirmation email to click. The change takes effect right away.

4. Connect your new email account

This step applies only if your new email address is hosted with Google or Microsoft.

If your new email address is hosted somewhere else, your email change is complete and you can move on to updating your active Indeed postings.

To connect your new Google or Microsoft email account:

  1. Go back to your profile page.
  2. Click Connect Email Account.
  3. Choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft, depending on your email provider.
  4. Review the permissions requested by Discovered.
  5. Click Allow.
  6. Wait for the connection to finish.

Once the connection is complete, your new email address is connected to your Discovered account.

Updating Your Job Postings on Indeed

Changing your Discovered account email address does not update jobs that are already posted to Indeed.

This is the step people most commonly miss. If a job was posted to Indeed using your old personal email address, that is still the address Indeed will see until you update the posting.

You only need to do this for jobs currently posted to Indeed. If a job is not posted to Indeed, there is nothing to change.

Update each active Indeed posting

Repeat these steps for every active job you currently have posted to Indeed:

  1. Click Dashboard in the top navigation menu.
  2. Find the Active Job Post widget.
  3. Select the job you want to update.
  4. From the job’s main view, click Find and Evaluate Talent.
  5. Select Post on Job Boards.
  6. Find the Indeed card.
  7. Click Edit.
  8. Find the email address field for the posting.
  9. Replace the old email address with your new company email address.
  10. Click Save.

Work through your active jobs one at a time until every job posted to Indeed shows the correct company email address.

How Long Until Indeed Shows the Change?

Discovered sends the update to Indeed immediately.

Indeed processes incoming updates on its side, so it may take a short while for the change to appear on the live job listing.

If More Than One Person at Your Company Posts Jobs

Each person who posts jobs should have their own company email address connected to their own Discovered user account.

Discovered uses the email address of the person who posts the job, and each Discovered user has their own unique address. A single shared company email address cannot cover every user.

If multiple people at your company post jobs:

  1. Each user should complete the account email update steps for their own profile.
  2. Each user should connect their own Google or Microsoft email account, if applicable.
  3. Existing Indeed postings should be reviewed and updated as needed.

Updating existing job postings does not have to be done by the person who originally created them. Anyone with sufficient permissions can edit the company’s job postings, so one person can work through the active Indeed postings if needed.

Important: Complete the account changes first. If job postings are updated before individual user accounts are changed, any new jobs posted later may still use the old personal email address.

Common Questions

Do I have to change my password?

No. Your password stays the same.

However, your email address is also your login, so you should sign in with your new company email address going forward.

What happens to my old email address?

Nothing changes to the old email address outside of Discovered. If it was a personal email address, it remains yours to use personally.

It is simply no longer connected to your Discovered account.

I changed my email before disconnecting the old one. What should I do?

Open Email Account from your profile, unassign the connected email address, then connect your new Google or Microsoft email account.

The person who posted one of our jobs has left the company. How do we fix that posting?

Anyone with sufficient permissions can edit the posting.

Follow the steps in the Updating Your Job Postings on Indeed section and replace the email address in the Indeed card with the correct company email address.

You do not need to reassign the job first.

My new email address is not hosted by Google or Microsoft. Is that a problem?

Not for Indeed.

Your job postings can still use the correct company email address. However, Discovered’s connected email and calendar features require a Google or Microsoft account.

I have too many jobs posted to Indeed to update manually. What should I do?

Contact your Discovered account representative.

Discovered can help update the email address on your postings if you provide the email address that should be used.

Why This Matters

Using a company email address helps keep job postings, account access, candidate communication, and connected email features consistent across your organization.

Updating both your Discovered account and your active Indeed postings helps prevent jobs from continuing to show or use an old personal email address. It also helps teams maintain a cleaner, more professional recruiting workflow when multiple users are posting jobs.

Use Cases

Use this process when you need to:

  • Switch from a personal email address to a company email address
  • Update the email address used to log in to Discovered
  • Reconnect Google or Microsoft email features after changing your account email
  • Make sure active Indeed postings use the correct company email address
  • Update postings created by someone who has left the company
  • Clean up multiple active job postings that still use old email addresses

Best Practices

  • Disconnect your current email account before changing your Discovered account email.
  • Reconnect your new Google or Microsoft email after updating your account.
  • Remember that your email address is also your Discovered login.
  • Review every active job currently posted to Indeed.
  • Update account emails before updating job postings.
  • Make sure each user who posts jobs has their own company email address.
  • Contact your Discovered account representative if you need help updating many postings.

What Happens Next

After your account email is updated, you should sign in to Discovered using your new company email address.

If you connected a new Google or Microsoft account, Discovered will use that account for supported email and calendar features.

After you update your active Indeed postings, Discovered sends the changes to Indeed. The updates may take a short while to appear on the live job listings while Indeed processes them.
